Our November 2021 Member Spotlight goes to….

Sarah Goff!!

This month we celebrate Sarah Goff for our Member Spotlight! Look at the fierceness and strength in her feature picture!  No wonder she chose cleans as her favorite CF movement!  Read on to find out more about our member, Sarah.  We love Sarah and are so glad you found Uncommon.  Congratulations on Member Spotlight for November 2021!
.
Q1: What do you do for a living?

I am a licensed clinical psychotherapist! I specialized in non-pharmaceutical/holistic mental health interventions.

.
Q2: How did you get into Crossfit?

Andrea Holloway convinced me to go to a bring-a-friend class in 2019! I loved the intensity, community, and structure. I decided to join shortly after.

.
Q3: What is your favorite CF movement? Why?

Cleans. I love cleans. I love the power behind the movement. I love how I feel after completing a heavy clean. I also love rowing.

.
Q4: What is your least favorite CF movement? Why?

I would rather drink a gallon of bleach than do thrusters.

.

Kidding, but not really.

.

It’s a hard movement for me to do that usually ends up with back pain. I have learned to keep the weight light in order to be successful with this type of movement.

.
Q5: What do you like most about Uncommon?

Okay, this is not a single-answer question.

.

1. I LOVE the programming. I love how the programming is designed to prevent injuries and promote longevity. I love the variety of movement and intensity.

.

2. The community. I have been able to form the best friendships that I know will last forever. I love the support, acceptance, and concern that I feel from the friends that I have made at Uncommon. It’s truly like no other place.

.
Q6: What have you learned most about yourself in the time that you have been members at Uncommon?

I have learned to honor and feel grateful for my body. I have learned that this is not a competition, but rather, my time there is now spent grounding myself with happiness and love.

.

I have learned that there are many ways to have a “successful” workout. I have learned what that means to me, and that the meaning can change from day to day.

.

I have learned to accept myself for who I am and work on what I would like to change.

.
Q7: What are your guilty pleasures?

Buying plants. My entire home is a jungle. Do I need more plants? No. Am I always going to be locating and purchasing more plants? Yes.

.
Q8: How do you like to spend your time outside of the gym?

I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children.  We have lots of family movie nights.

.

I have also been spending lots of time tapping into my spirituality and cultivating a life that aligns with my core values.

.

I love spending time in nature.
