Our December 2020 Member Spotlight goes to….
Brandy and Jason Walker!!
B: I stay at home with my Angel Children whom do nothing wrong.
J: I deliver everyone’s stuff for UPS, While not judging you on what you order.
.
Q2: How did you get into Crossfit?
B: I saw a Newspaper article back in 2012, announcing the grand opening. I tried it once, and I was hooked for life!!
J: My wife gave me the greatest birthday gift ever in the spring of 2014. It was to be just a month trial period to see if I liked it. Turns out 6 years, and a million Fit-aids later it was whole life style change.
B: I like OLY lifting, If I had to choose one, I would go with the “Snatch”
J: I really like Double-Unders.
B: Oh, I have a couple….. Burpee Box jumps, Thrusters, and anything with speed. I am more of a long wod girl.
J: Heavy Dumbbell Snatches, and basically anything overhead, due to my poor mobility.
B:The community………this quote pretty much sums it up “Surround yourself with people that want more out of life” “That won’t settle for average. People that you can connect with on a deeper level. Keep your circle fresh. Keep your circle full of quality rather than quantity. Full of cool ass humans that you can be yourself around. People that fill you up with nothing but love. People that want to see you succeed. People that GET IT. Good circle, good life!!”
J: Yeah, what B said lol. Also this sport will humble you. To the ones that it doesn’t, they don’t usually last very long here.
B: You can do anything you put your mind to. You can do hard things, and its okay to cry.
J: That it’s okay to be beat in a workout. Don’t get mad at your results, if you haven’t put the work in. Cheering on your fellow classmates is the greatest sign of respect you can show, and it always feels great to receive it.
B: Calling people while driving in my British Accent, and leaving long winded messages. It puts a smile on my face.
J: Sweets, I constantly battle with “It’s okay just to have one Jason”. 4-6 cookies later I’m staring at an empty plate wondering if it had 15 on it would we still be in this dilemma.
We went to High School together, but our paths never crossed. Then one day Brandy must’ve been desperate and sent me a message on the bookface, begging me to take her out. Our first date was Rock climbing, and her yoga pants got stuck on one of the climbing holds, so there I was standing on the floor holding her rope and sweating profusely trying to decide if and how I was going to stick my hand around there to help her off. Luckily we got her down quickly and easily. Its been nothing but love ever since!
